Enclosure: The StationaryTower™ Load Bank is placed in a weather rated, heavy-duty, painted, mild steel enclosure with provisions for four heavy-duty lifting eyes and fork lift provisions for easy lifting and maneuvering. The bottom air inlets, side air inlets and top air outlets are protected by expanded metal screens. Angled exhaust air hoods are provided for additional protection against the weather for permanent installations. Heat is discharged vertically. Access is allowed via multiple hinged doors and panels. 10’ x 8’ x 8.5’ refurbished, weather rated shipping container, with mechanically operated covers, can be used for mobile applications.

Rating: Continuous duty.

Mounting: Intended for permanent or mobile installation.

Controls: Mounted on the load bank behind lockable, see-through, hinged door including the following:

  • One digital meter with bright red LED display for high visibility, capable of measuring kW, I, V, PF, frequency and more with data logging capability and IR to USB & USB to USB interface.
  • One power ON 22mm green push button.
  • One power OFF 22mm red push button.
  • One master load ON/OFF 22mm switch.
  • One red mushroom E-stop button.
  • One blower ON/OFF 22mm switch (per air channel).
  • One fan rotation switch.
  • One internal/external fan power 22mm switch (optional).
  • Multiple ON/OFF toggle switches for each resistive load step.
  • One power ON green indicator lamp.
  • Air flow indicator lamps (per air channel, green and red).
  • Over temperature indicator lamps (per air channel).
  • Test jacks: A, B and C.

Control Power: 120V, 1Φ, 60Hz internally supplied from the blower power, via step down transformer 480V/120V.

Resistive Load Elements: Our WeldlessWeave™ resistors, wye connected, are made of stainless steel and used for this application.

WeldlessWeave™ technology utilizes a continuous ribbon to eliminate all welds. By eliminating welds, hot spots are eliminated. To reduce the operating temperature, no through bolts are used, and a parallel element system reduces the watt density. Finally our resistors are design to withstand vibration, and breakable parts like ceramics insulators are not used. All this will result in maximum operating life of our resistors.

Contactors: Standard, heavy-duty, 600V, 3Φ rated contactors.

Customer Connections: Bus-bar type; 3 phase, 3 wire (A, B, and C).

Blower Voltage: 460V, 3 Phase, 60Hz to be taken of the bus or to be externally supplied by customer.

Blower(s): 1 large, single inlet, high volume vane axial blower (20HP, 27A, per 1.5MW section).

Safety Features: Branch circuit fuses, ground lug, fused motor starters, over temperature sensors and positive air flow sensors. Components that need to be heated in the winter will be placed in a separate enclosure within the main enclosure.
