PortaBank™ is the smallest weather capable load bank in Mosebach's line of portable resistive load bank products. The PortaBank™ is a fully operational, extremely durable, lightweight and portable resistive load bank that can be easily moved from site to site to handle all of your load requirements. Our products are designed and manufactured to be able to withstand vibration, shock, tough working conditions and high temperatures!

PortaBank™ can be used for testing generators, UPS systems and static inverters up to 255kW in 5kW increments.
Standard voltages available are 480/240/208V 3 phase, 60Hz. A 200V 3 phase 400Hz option is also available. 600V and other voltage versions are also available.
Mosebach has a long history in the rail and mining industries, where its resistors are used in large power (4,000 kW typical) dynamic brake systems. Thousands of our resistors are used daily in locomotives and giant mining trucks in the USA and around the world.
Mosebach has taken its expertise in large power resistors and applied it to these smaller power load banks. Specifically, we have developed the SlimLine™ resistor, which has superior insulation and heat transfer capabilities. The resistor element is a stamped stainless steel plate held in place with mica insulators. There is no ceramic to shatter, no metal rods to short circuit, and no bailing wire to cause a cascade failure of the load bank's resistors.
FEATURES:
Mechanical
- Rugged steel enclosure with scratch-resistant powder-coat paint system.
- Portable, lightweight construction with 3.5” casters (two fixed and two swivel with lockable brakes), four heavy-duty lifting eyes and lift truck channels, making it easy to maneuver.
Electrical
- Digital meter (50/60 Hz) to indicate volts, amps, kW, frequency and more. Option for 400Hz voltages. Option for data logging capability.
- Switches for master/blowers on/off, voltage selection, load shock, load dump and steps on/off.
- Test jacks for voltages.
- Airflow and overtemperature indication lamps.
- Steps are controlled by magnetic contactors.
- Power circuit fuses.
- Control power from the bus or customer supplied. Control circuit fuses are included to protect contactor coils and meter, and a motor starter for the blower.
- Customer connection is via color coded cam-lock terminals for easy and safe connect and disconnect.
Cooling
- High-volume, 2650CFM, 1HP, low-noise centrifugal blower or 16”, single inlet, 3 HP, 5500CFM, vane axial blower with horizontal discharge.
